St. Johns County

Audubon Society

Welcome to our site!

We're delighted you have chosen our site to stop and browse. Located in St. Augustine, Florida, the St. Johns County Audubon Society offers members and visitors spectacular natural habitat: seashores and beaches, salt and fresh water marshes, meadows, rivers, and forests. Our county Bird List contains over 250 species including eagles, ospreys, black-necked stilts, painted buntings, swallow-tailed kites, herons, egrets, hawks, owls, pelicans, and many more.

We welcome guests at our program meetings and field trips. Weave through our nest and enjoy!

Schedule an Audubon Nature Walk for Your Area...You’ll be glad you did!

Won’t you invite us to visit your neighborhood or favorite park?
The walks are educational, great for the less skilled birder, and always lots of fun! We can plan a morning or late afternoon walk to suit your fancy. Just help us with arrangements and invite your friends. We’ll do the rest.

How are Nature Walks different from regular monthly field trips?
These walks are only in St. Johns County and only two hours long. Thus, they are well-suited to us older folks, to moms whose children are in school during the day, and to anyone who doesn’t have time for longer weekend field trips. Also, we look at all facets of nature and not just birds. We explore the native plants, various critters, scat, and tracks. And what we don’t know, we look up or ask somebody. That’s how we learn.
